TEVINTER FUGITIVE "the lyrium ghost" One of the Champion's various companions, though undoubtedly the most difficult one, in every meaning of the word. Fenris had always been a rather prickly sort and was constantly butting heads with Hawke during their complicated mark in history. Though in the end, when times had gotten tough he had stuck with her, determined to remain at her side, even when they both knew she would be hunted down for what had happened at the Gallows. He would have died to protect her, which is exactly why she had left him behind when facing a new threat. Fortunately for the both of them, she survived the ordeal and he'd been adamant about making sure she never had to put herself at risk again. Since then he's settled down somewhat, as much as a living weapon can, really. He continues to put his blade and markings to use, working as a mercenary as he cleans out slavers and any magisters he may come across. He travels quite frequently, only going far when the contract is too good to pass up, but he's quite content with remaining at Hawke's side to ensure she doesn't get roped into anymore trouble, the woman having done more than enough at this hero business as far as he's concerned. --- Fenris is admittedly rather distant and doesn't make very many friends so much as he does acquaintances, so most of his inner circle consists of the companions he fought alongside with during the Champion's adventures. This is not to say he's incapable, rather it's just unlikely, especially if you are the sensitive sort who may take offense to his brash personality. Those who do have the 'pleasure' of making an ally out of him may not have the most optimistic of companions, but no one can doubt his loyalty and diligence. --- One cannot simply get over the things he had to endure, so it makes sense that he can be a bit hostile, especially towards slavers and slavery sympathizers at that. Mages are a tricky subject though, the elf quite obviously disliking them, but at the same time he can't deny having friends and even a lover who are mages, making him look like quite the hypocrite. That doesn't change the fact he will regard others with disdain though and treat them rather poorly unless they are able to prove they are the 'good ones'. Naturally being a Tevinter fugitive, he's still got some bad blood back 'home' who'd love nothing more than to destroy him, especially with all the trouble he's been causing them even in recent years. --- He's committed to one person and one person only, Zaria Hawke. They might disagree on many things and argue more than he cares to admit, but he'd give up his life to protect her and owes her everything for what she'd done for him and what she continues doing for him to this day. As dedicated as he is to her though, he hasn't quite settled in with her, almost seeming afraid of the notion, not because he doesn't trust Hawke, but simply because he doesn't want to mess what they have up. Mess with her however and he will certainly make you regret it. |
