Which side will you choose?
Thedas sports a few major groups and more are popping up by the season, it seems. In this time of peace, people are itching with anxiety for the next thing to go wrong and this time they're determined to be prepared.
If you would like to create a custom group, contact a mod for information! We'd love to have more groups pop up including, but not limited to, political parties, cults, mercenary groups, and large companies. If you have an idea for a group that you think can further the plot, don't hesitate to contact a mod! There is no requirement for creating a custom group.
The most recent heroes in Thedas, the Inquisition was pivotal to closing the Breach and stopping Corypheus. Once a large organization commanding an entire army, they have harshly cut their number in order to prevent war with Ferelden, who strongly disapproved of the presence of their standing armies on their borders and within them. However, their smaller number does not necessarily mean they are no longer powerful. The Inquisitor's name and word still carries weigh and they maintain strong connections to people in higher places. They are not the same as the Inquisition of old, an organization made to violently spread the Chant, but they are also not exactly the same as they were when there was still a hole in the sky.
The only people who can kill an archdemon and stop the blight, but in recent years they have faced controversy after controversy. Supposedly neutral and uninvolved with politics, they attempted to usurp the Ferelden throne in 7:5 Storm and exiled after their attempt failed. They returned in 9:10 Dragon, but in 9:31 Dragon, they were called traitors and the cause of the horrific loss of King Cailin and much of Ferelden's military at Ostagar. Although this was later proven false, people still wonder. Then in 9:41 Dragon, Orlesian warden mages were using blood magic in a desperate attempt to stop the blight, but their good intentions turned against them as the Red Templars manipulated and used them. Trust in the wardens is frightfully low, but no one dares try to get rid of them, because there will be another blight and without the wardens all of Thedas will perish.
A lucrative group with ties to the Inquisition. They are vigilantes claiming to fight for the little people in Thedas. They're responsible for the assassinations of several politicians and lords across Thedas as well as several cases of espionage. They would be surely marked as the highest of criminals if they hadn't helped save the world from the breach in the veil.
Most people in Thedas just aren't particularly in one group or another. They go about their lives doing one thing or another within their own circle of friends and allies not big enough or powerful enough to be named and that's just fine. They make differences, too.
