[PTab=BIOGRAPHY]
THE NIGHT IS LONG AND THE PATH IS DARK
Family is Family.... No matter how far between
Many people would like to state that no matter what...blood is blood, and honestly it is a matter of fact for many countries. We are all the same within that regard when it comes to those that share the same blood as us, even if we don't look next to anything like their said family member. I for one...wasn't exactly born with dark skin, but I did have my mother's looks combined with her dark brown eyes. Parts of her hair color could be found within my own, but otherwise it just muddy the blond that was set within my hair. Everything else was considerably more from my father's side...though...I honestly don't know much about him.
It was a sort of an agreement between my aunt and my grandparents after my mother passed. I never got to know my mother from the start honestly, because she died giving birth to me and so I was left to be taken care of by the rest of her family. There are many things in which people would have said about my family if they were not originally born in Rivain--or--really if they were born in Llomerryn. Everyone had their set of insight about things that go on around them, but most of the people outside of Rivain didn't understand why we live the way we do....
Perhaps that is where the misunderstanding took it's shape from.....
You see if you really wish to know more about my family, then you have to understand that Rivain doesn't work like most countries. For one...mages are free to live among their family, they are free to get married and have children. Or if you are anything like my grandparents...you'd most likely question how a Templar and a mage fell for one another in the first place. Everyone says it's like some kind of forbidden love, but if you were to ask my grandmother, well, she'd just look at you and laugh. Between them there was nothing forbidden because it was just a natural thing for two Rivaini's those that were born outside of the influence of the Chant of Light...that they wedded.
It was through them that my mother and my aunt was born, but at the same time you could say my grandfather never really remembered much. The moment that my grandparents had arrived to Llomerryn was the same time in which he started to take himself off of lyrium. If he had been younger...perhaps...perhaps the side effects wouldn't have been so bad, but after years of using lyrium.... Well, there isn't much to say about it--grandfather--he started to lose his memory after that, and it became more and more frequent. It came to a point that grandmother started to live notes and journals for him to read.
Most people probably wouldn't understand it, but grandmother really did love grandfather in his own way. Even though he doesn't remember much of his life...he is still my grandfather, and someone that I myself love very much. Every since I was a child...I had always considered him as my protector, and someone I occasionally loved to read with as much as possible. Even with his loss of memory...grandfather didn't lose much of his hobbies or interests of things, including reading.
My auntie was someone that actively admired as a child, because she was one of those women that were considered to be strong-willed. Just like grandmother...she was indeed a mage, and a Seer at that while grandmother was a healer. She always took her job seriously, and when I started to show signs of magic--Auntie--she had placed me under her wing when it came to learning magic. Though when she found that I had more of an interest to be a healer...I was placed under my grandmother's wing for awhile. I was not old enough to become a Seer, but she had promised when I was old enough that I could indeed start learning.
