This is Ashyla! She's a Lavellan, the only other member of the scouting band that the Keeper sent to spy on the Conclave, she became a scout for the Inquisition when she stumbled into Haven. She is a Rogue with a Ranger specialization and is REALLY good with animals. She doesn't like getting too personal with anyone, for the most part, but there are a few exceptions. Wherever Ashyla goes, so does her wolf, Emma. Emma's name comes from the elven emma lath, which roughly translates to I love you. She has a secret love of ancient elven culture and language, and can sometimes be found in the Skyhold library when she's between assignments.
Friends: cyrlan lavellan : The two together make the last Lavellans, as far as they know.
Enemies:
Love Interests: note: Ash hasn't told me if she's straight or bi yet, so I'm willing to try just about anything here.
Acquaintances: @harding because Harding is the lead scout for the Inquisition.

Hm... Well, I don't know about GOOD friends, but she would've gotten to know him when she was a bit more childish in nature. Since Clan Lavellan was known for trading with humans instead of hating them, she would've been more likely to be a bit more welcoming to him than, say, elves from another clan. But she probably would've distanced herself from him after her clan was destroyed. She did that with a lot of people, especially the humans in her life.
Even after all these years, she still blames Leliana, Cullen, and Josephine for the destruction of her clan.
But maybe he's trying to get her to open up again, and that's allowing her to be more comfortable around someone who isn't Cyrlan? Would that work?

She never HATED humans as a whole, she just felt like humans wouldn't be able to relate to her pain. Ashyla sort of blames Cullen for not taking Josephine's diplomat's advice. Cause if they'd gone a more subtle route, maybe there wouldn't have been so much fighting.
As we discussed in the cbox, most of it is that she made herself so busy after that she hasn't given herself time to properly mourn any of them, and she hasn't forced herself to face the truth.
And, yes, she does blame Cyrlan, but she's busy trying to deny that her best friend would've done something like that to the clan.
... Yeah, I am just restating things we're talking about in the cbox. It helps me keep my thoughts straight.
Hey, maybe he's one of the people who starts to bring her back to reality and makes her face her past? Since apparently she's trying to run from it...

Ashyla & Canicus Bonding over greenery, elfy things, and furbabies
Set the scene: Ashyla is out on a scouting mission somewhere with plenty of green and ruins (ideally the Arbor Wilds), otherwise minding her own business, when she picks up on sounds of distress. Should she choose to go investigate, she'd come across a lone elf just finishing up lighting a giant on fire. He notices her while he's dusting himself off, they have an awkward 'friend or foe' moment where maybe, maaaaybe some interest in the local elvhen ruins gets mentioned, which leads to a ducky conversation about ancient elvhen things. Also, he'd love her wolf.
Obviously there's a ton up in the air, but that's the general idea.

Ashyla and CanicusShe's not going to just go "Hey fellow elf, let's be friends!" That's giving her WAY too much credit. She'd be more likely to shoot him with an arrow. Or at least shoot one near him to serve as a warning. She just doesn't trust anyone right away. And there's no way that her wolf would like him either, since he's a stranger. In actuality, she'd be more likely to try to lecture him when she finds out that he supports Tevinter. And she definitely won't trust him when she finds out about the blood mage thing. Odds are, if he tries to be friends, it MIGHT work, eventually, but it'll take a few threads for her to even be okay with him. But drama can be fun too, if it's done right.

Oh no, didn't mean to imply they'd be instant friends. Besides, even the most trusting of people don't trust a mage outright. There'd be that 'friend or foe moment', like I said, where she would have plenty of opportunity to shoot that arrow. And whether her wolf likes him or not, he'd still love it lol Thankfully he's not dumb enough to try to play with wild animals.
As a general rule he does always try to be friendly unless given enough reason to behave otherwise, so it is definitely a possibility? He's adjusted to the lectures on his loyalties and the reactions to his magic specialties, but depending on what exactly gets said can get pretty nasty back, so it'd be interesting to see how that would play out. Drama can definitely be fun. ^^
